On one side of The Easmor Alexander’s private backyard is a long, wide strip of gravel. It’s a good amount of space, with large palm trees, privacy and wide mountain views, but there has been no good reason to go over there.
To create the Bocce court, we raked the gravel away, leveled the area, framed up the sides with wood, added weed-blocker and a layer of sand, then hauled in 15 cubic feet of decomposed granite. We leveled the court again, wet it down, and waited for it to set in the desert sunshine.
All we had to do next was pour the Negonis and Proseco, and game on! Well, first we jumped in the pool. Then happy hour and Bocce ball. Priorities.
Next time you come and stay at this Palm Springs vacation rental, you’ll find the Bocce balls in the hallway game closet.
